Vision maps are illustrations that are both image and text heavy, and their main purpose is to tell a story. They describe complex future states, current environments, or plans and proposals on a single, placemat-sized sheet of paper. Vision mapping is writing a clear and specific vision with a detailed road map to achieving the vision, very similar to goal setting. Vision Mapping can help people accomplish their achievements and actually develop a plan on how to accomplish those achievements in a step by step journey. Vision maps may often involve some sort of visual travel plan, such as a road or a pathway to show from the starting point to the end goal with clear visual stops along the way.
