Fran O’Hara


Fran O’Hara is the Founder and Managing Director of the Scarlet Design Group. Fran is the face (and visible pen) of Scarlet Design, the main Visual Facilitator as well as the Creative Director in the studio.

As a Communications Specialist, with a 20 year+ international career which includes being a University Lecturer, Fran works extensively delivering design, facilitation, training and strategic visioning across a range of sectors. Fran’s primary focus is on creating ‘new tools for the new workplace’, using design, visual-led facilitation and business strategy to bring clarity and increase engagement – and having fun in the process.

Fran uses strategy, design, training and visual facilitation to bring clarity and to create engaging and inclusive communications with proven experience in visual facilitation, strategic illustration, workshop design and delivery, coaching, consultation, world café, brand strategy and development, corporate identity, print, packaging, NPD, POS design, product sourcing, range planning. Completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE Pcet) in 2009 qualified Fran to teach/train 16+ years. She works as an associate tutor at 2 Universities in Cardiff, and also as a coach at IMD Executive Business School.

Completing a post-graduate certificate in post-compulsory education (PGCE PCET) in July 2010, Fran is currently working towards an MA in ‘Leadership & Coaching using visual methodolog. She is a member of the IFVP, an accredited Visual Facilitator, ‘Easy Read’ and RNIB Accessible Information’ practitioner.

Adriana Owens


Adriana Owens is our Design Director, who is both very creative and highly technical, we call her our Studio ‘Ninja’.

Adriana gained her skillset throughout her career working in Europe, Asia and Australia as a Freelance Senior Designer, Adriana’s skills range from print design, brand development & ID, Art Direction and styling. Adriana is very passionate about design, and prides herself on providing a well-rounded and professional design service.

Adriana is proficient in both Mac and PC, with excellent knowledge of CC2017 and good all round knowledge of scanning, pre-press, repro and CMYK print processes. Adriana’s diverse skill-set, coupled with her great communication and people skills, have resulted in an expert ability to create innovative, diverse and strategic graphics and designs. She has strong attention to detail, is highly organised and is very technical when it comes to using design software.

Lois Smith


Lois is Scarlet Design’s Studio Manager, with over ten years’ industry experience working across cities Cardiff, London, Sydney and Melbourne. Lois is a qualified Graphic Designer but has spent the majority of her career working within the Project & Account Management area of the Design industry.

Lois has worked within Studio and Traffic Management within the public, private, financial and voluntary sectors. Having worked within Publishing and Production Management alongside editorial, print and digital teams as well as having both agency and in-house design experience, Lois obtains a variety of skills within the design industry, from client liaison, to dealing with all the financial, accounts & procurement as well as new business development and sales.

Proficient in both Mac and PC, and using CC2017, Lois’s first language is Welsh so she also produces the Welsh art-work versions of our bilingual collateral and is a point of contact for clients who prefer to deal in Welsh.

Lola O’Hara

Lola is the Scarlet Studio dog. Lola is a very important part of the Scarlet Design team and usually spends around six to eight hours of the day sitting on her Scarlet red cushion. Lola is also responsible for signing off on all final pr-woofs.
